How do I transfer my configuration to another machine? Print E-mail
Question:
I just got a new machine and want to use my old SlickEdit® settings. How do I transfer my configuration to another machine?

Answer:
The easiest way to transfer a copy of SlickEdit, is to copy over the entire installation directory to your new machine. Since we do not rely on entries in the Microsoft® Windows® registry, you do not need to reinstall the program to run it properly. You will want to copy your configuration directory to the new machine as well.

Windows: Configuration files will be stored under your "My Documents" folder by default.

Linux®/UNIX®: Configuration files will be stored under your home directory in .slickedit by default.

You can find out exactly where your configuration directory is located by going to (Help > About SlickEdit).
