New features enable programmers to significantly speed up the development process

Morrisville, NC—March 8, 2005 — SlickEdit Inc., provider of essential software development tools, today announces the release of SlickEdit v10 for Windows, Linux, Unix, and Mac OS X platforms.  This latest version builds on the company’s 17-year tradition of enabling developers and development teams to create, navigate, modify, build, and debug code faster and more accurately.  

Whether used as a stand alone development environment or as a complimentary editor, SlickEdit continues to build on a rich history.  SlickEdit v10 provides additional speed, power and flexibility to the most advanced code editor available.  SlickEdit provides a wide range of features for analyzing, working with and improving the readability of code. 

SlickEdit v10 has a fantastic new look with both updated icons and the flexibility to arrange windows and toolbars any way you want.  SlickEdit has also added Subversion support and a method for system administrators to perform unattended install of SlickEdit across the enterprise.

For C++ programmers, five new refactorings are added (Modify Parameter List, Pull Up to Super Class, Push Down to Super Class, Extract Class, and Extract Super Class) making a total of 18 C++ refactorings in SlickEdit v10.  Visual Studio key emulation, Visual Studio project support, and Microsoft Visual C++ toolkit support round out the C++ features.

Java programmers will experience to many new and powerful features including: Java live errors, Organize imports, Hot-swap debugger, JUnit support, JSP 2.0 support, JavaScript 1.4 support, and J2ME support.

This release of SlickEdit also contains new debugger enhancements, including: mixed mode view; multiprocessor debugging support, hex/octal/binary views, and debugger watchpoints.
