I have Aventail Connect® 3.x installed and the SlickEdit® FTP support does not work. It fails to connect with an error like:
Error waiting for control connection from SlickEdit proxy...
Answer:
Follow these steps to unsecure the "vs.exe" and "vsproxy.exe" applications in the \slickedit\win directory.
1. Run the Aventail Connect configuration tool.
2. Go to the Advanced tab.
3. Under "Applications to Secure", turn on the radio button "Secure All Applications Except Listed."
4. Click the Modify List button and add vs.exe and vsproxy.exe to the list.
SlickEdit should now be able to establish an FTP connection.
