FLEXnet® Concurrent File License Request |
|
|
Instructions for concurrent license file generation:
1. Obtain the hostname of the server which will host the SlickEdit® licenses.
Microsoft Windows®:
Right click on My Computer > select Properties > Computer Name tab and use the Full computer name.
UNIX®/Linux®:
From a BASH shell run the hostname command.
2. Obtain the HostID of the server.
Windows:
If you do not already have the FLEXnet server files, please download and install the FLEXnet server tools for Windows. Run the following command from a command prompt from the directory which lmutil.exe is stored:
lmutil.exe lmhostid
This will return the HostID for the server. If more than one HostID is returned use the first in the list.
UNIX/Linux:
If you do not already have the FLEXnet server files, please download them for the appropriate operating system:
•Linux
•Solaris™ SPARC
•Solaris x86
•HP-UX
•AIX
Specifically, the file required is lmutil. Run the following command from a terminal from the directory which lmutil was saved.
./lmutil lmhostid
This will return the HostID for the server. If more than one HostID is returned use the first in the list.
NOTE: If you intend to run a redundant server environment, please obtain the hostname and HostID for the other servers and enter the information in the optional fields below. You can omit the extra steps if using a single server environment.
The resulting screen will contain a download link for your concurrent license file and will list your new License Key. Download the license file to the FLEXnet Server installation directory, replacing the existing vsflex.lic file, if one exists. (Please note that the License Key under your Registered Products has also been updated to reflect the new key.)
Click to return to the Windows or Unix/Linux instruction page for FLEXnet installation.
