What is tagging? Print E-mail

Question:
What is tagging?

Answer:
Tagging is a facility that allows quick and easy building of a database of function definitions, function prototypes, global variables, and various other constructs depending on language.  Once the tags database is built, you can jump to the location of the tag by putting your cursor on the name and pressing a hot-key such as Ctrl+Dot for CUA emulation.  To pop back to where you were, simply press another hot-key such as Ctrl+Comma for CUA emulation.

Tagging is done dynamically, as you type, so SlickEdit® always knows your code and the current context.

For more information, see the SlickEdit help topic on Context Tagging®.
